Down payment assistance is available for qualifying applicants who are looking to purchase a home. Prospective homeowners must meet income guidelines and contribute at least $1,000 towards the purchase. You are required to obtain financing with a mortgage lender. 50% of the lender-required down payment and/or closing costs - up to $5,000 - can be loaned at 0% interest. No payments are required as long as you own and occupy the home. When you sell the home, or when you no longer live there, the loan will need to be repaid.

The property must pass an initial inspection, and additional funds may be available for rehabilitation after the purchase. All programs are first-come, first-served and subject to funds on hand. Applicants agree to attend eight hours of Homeownership Counseling prior to receiving assistance.
